" 230, A Tattoo, A Championship, Baby Jack, It's my Anniversary, One more day to Rice and Soda, 25 Days? are you kidding ME?!?!"

Hello Friends and Family.

Well, another 10 days has passed and I am updating....I stepped on the scale today and it read 230! Sound the horns, Pop the Bubbly, Let loose he Ticker Tape, and press up the victory T-shirts and sell them while I parade down the street!!!!

Uh, No. Like Judd Nelson said to "Dick" in The Breakfast Club..."NOT EVEN CLOSE..BUD!!!"

However, this is a tiny victory in this WAR I am fighting in. So, I have dropped 2.5 pounds in 10 days. Eating habits, still sticking to my weekly regimin during the week of Oatmeal and OJ, followed by a cup of Java in the morning and then a Turkey Wrap ( I've switched from White Bread) for lunch. Dinner time, Salad and Chicken and no carbs, however I did eat carbs a few times after 5 pm. It's funny, because I still do not feel heavy after I do eat carbs. I think my body may be adapting. I'm still getting the fat jokes from my crew on the CMB show (http://www.thecmbshow.com/), which is cool, because like I've said before, I'm not going to be content until I'm where I want to be...So keep the JOKES coming BITCHES!!! ; )

Last week I hit a Starbucks or Peete's Coffee almost everyday after 5PM. I've been so tired as of late with work and my e3 business and my daughter KiKi's soccer team added a third practice during the week, so I'm basiclly in the Concord/Clayton area 3 nights out of the week, which is all worth it because:

Congrats to the DFC 98 Dragons and to my KiKi, keep playing hard baby girl!

Also, while in Concord this week, I did manange to NOT tget coffee, instead, I got a new Tattoo:

My new TAT reads: "JE " which are my wifey's initials. She insist they are mine, which they are too, but I really did get this for her. Our 7 year anniversary is today 8.24.09, Happy Anniversary JINKY! We decided to celebrate tommorrow by going to get sushi. Why tommorrow? Well, if you have been following my adventure, you'll know that I gave up RICE and SODA for 100 days. Tommorrow marks the 100th day! I am stoked because I have been wanting some sushi since May 19th ( I started this No Rice, No Soda test on May 18th! ). Anyway, I will reward myself with the awsome'ness of SUSHI tommorrow and perhaps a coke...Well, I'm more stoked about getting to eat rice again, I think I can hold off on the soda. We'll see, the old "FATTER" me wants one really bad, but the "Less, but still a FATTY" feels I can go longer.

Hmmm, maybe I should make my declaration right now. Yeah, I'm going to, in front of all you reading this;

I, Justin David Evangelista, will not drink Soda ( Coke, Pepsi, RC Cola, Dr. Pepper, Sprite, etc...) until May 18th 2010.

Man, there I said it, but can I do it? I think I can, because I'll only be hurting one person if I do break the streak and that's myself, and we all know I love myself just a bit TOO MUCH somtimes...espeacially when the wifey isn't in the mood...BAROOM TISH!

So, another motivation has been added to my "LifeStyle" change. The birth of my new GODSON; John David Evangelista aka JACK. Congrats to my cousin Jay and his wife Aims ( which he owes me his life or maybe just an XBOX 360 for "Hooking" them up!) and to their little girl and my God daughter Maddie who is now a certified "ATE"!

What motivates me about the birth of Jack is that he is the heir to carry on our, EVANGELISTA last name. We were the last two to make sure this happen, I, had three beautiful girls and then my nuts snipped, so it was up to Jay and Aims to make sure our family name lived on. So Jay, like Kobe Bryant in the clutch ( he'll hate that reference, because he says he hates Kobe, but I think he secrectly wants a Bromance with him) fired in a boy! Way to go Jay! Anyway's, the birth of Jack makes me really want to be around longer. I figure by the time Jack is 25 ( just a low guess of when he'll knock some chick up), I'll be 60. So, I'll get to see if Baby Jack can "Get one pass the goalie" and possibly keep the EVANGELISTA name going. This won't happen unless I stay on this new course of eating and living better. My Grandpa Claudio Evangelista lived into his 80's. He never drank or never smoked. He did eat bad because my Grandma fed him well, but for the most part, I remembered he always stayed active. I remember he suffered a heart attack in the 80's, but I'm sure that was from all the good, but bad for your choloresterol food my Grandma was cooking up everyday...

Anyway, welcome to the family Baby Jack! Ninong is going to make sure he's around to watch you have a BOY too!

Well, back to the task at hand. 230, I am now only 15 pounds away from my Silver Goal of 215 pounds and have 25 days to do so. Shiite! I need to step it up now, don't I? I have to lose 4 pounds a week in the next 3 and a half weeks! Shiiite! Again! Well, I love challenges and I'm looking forward to this one. I'm also going to start training myself to wake up at 5:00 am every morning. I got this idea from my buddy Susim, who said he's doing it now. We'll see how that goes....

" 232.5....but Damn my ELBOW HURTS! "

Hello all. Well, it happen! Stepped on the scale this morning and 232.5 popped up! That is 1.5 pounds lost since my last log in. I was starting to get frustrated a tad, because I was stuck on 234 for awhile but I was losing inches instead. I've only made it into my gym aka "DA' DOJO" once this week because I have been finishing up some caricature drawings that I do for clients. Also, because I have been working such long hours on the PC, I have developed a sharp pain in my elbow that is really irritating me this week. I think it may be tendonitis, it's pretty painful and I am trying to cope by taking Vicodan, but I still feel the pain. I'm pushing through though and continuing on my same eating schedule. I indulged in a little bit of carbs this week after 5:00, but it was really, really a minimal indulge...C'mon, it was SPAGETTI, one of my favorite things to eat in the whole world!

I will be posting a new pic of myself soon so you can judge and see if I have made any progress.

Oh yeah, I highly recommend Nike Free 5.0 shoes for working out. They are so light and fell like you are bare footed. I also read more on them and they are designed specifically to strengthen Legs and Feet...a must do if your a fellow fatty like me caring around a lot of CARGO!

" I need more belt holes, Compliments are nice but dangerous and damn those Cravings!!!..."

So, it's been another 10 days, and I am happy to report that my weight this week is 234 on the dot! Wow, a whole .5 lost since my last log in which was 7.30.09. Now, normally, in the past, this would frustrate me to no end, because the lack of results "I am" seeing. However, it seems I'm looking like my new way of living is working! I was getting dressed this weekend and I put on my belt and went to fasten it, now I'm usually set at like the 3rd or 4th belt hole, but this time I pulled my belt until it was tight and when I went to put the belt needle into the hole, there was no more holes to use! I was in my closet, so I started to yell out " I NEED MORE BELT HOLES!!!" to my wife Jinky and our three girls that were in the loft. I walked from my closet to the loft and said it again " I NEED MORE BELT HOLES!!!"... My wifey and girls just started to laugh. This felt good, because I realized that it's just not weight I am trying to shed but inches too. I never thought about that before. I've always had the mind set that losing weight was all I had to do. Now, I'm not trying to be a size 32 or 34 waist kind of guy, I like the idea of getting to 36 and then maintain from there. I have two different pant sizes in my closet that are 38 and 40. The 40's are too big now I am happy to say and the 38's are starting to fall more now too. I think when I hit my Silver Goal of 215 it will defitnitley be time to hit THE GAP again for some pantalones..

Compliments are nice, but dangerous...

So, this is what I hear when I walk through the halls of my work... " Oh my gosh! What are you doing? You look so good..." or " Man, are you sick? You look like you've dropped alot! "...Now, if you know me, you'll know that I am one of the "Cockiest" people on this planet. Even as a fatty, I still act like my "ish" don't stink. Now imagine me getting complients about my apperance. My head is getting more swollen than Barry Bonds juiced dome! But, I'm taking this all in stride and not letting anything people say to me distrubt my task in front of me. I'll be the first to tell you that my journey is not even close to half way to where I want to be. If you want to get techinical, I feel I have only taken one step towards my ultimate destination and I have about a million miles ahead of me. This is all good though, because I am learning to be patient. Learning that it took almost 7 years to put myself in this situation and that it's not just going to take 7 days or 7 months to get back to where I was in good health. I'm happy that my mind and body know what our daily routine is now and that at certain times in the day this is what and only what I will be eating. This past weekend was a good example of throwing off my routine. I was working late Friday night putting the finishing touches on a website I've been developing, so I didn't get to bed until about 2:00 a.m. My lovely wife Jinky let me sleep in until about 11:00 a.m. After I got up, I did'nt go down stairs and get something to eat. I basiclly went into the loft after brushing my teeth and taking my morning dump. There I layed and watched T.V. until about 1:00. I got dressed and the family and I went to meet my sisters who were going to take my two older girls to Marine World. Now, it's about 1:45 or so and we stopped to get coffee at this shop in Benicia called RAAGS. My Jinky loves this place. Anyway, I got a large iced white chocolate mocha. Why did I get large? I do not know. I think my stomach ordered for me because I knew better. I hadn't eaten anything all morning, I hadn't put anything into my system yet and I was going to start my day with this LARGE ICED WHITE CHOCOLATE MOCHA. So, I get my drink and I drink it down. I was starving and I thought that this would head my stomach until I got to eat something good. Well, we ended up going to this Hawaiin BBQ place. I got the BBQ Chicken and Chicken Katsu plate, no rice, but extra Mac salad. NOT a good idea to be the first meal of the day. Let me just put it this way, for the next 5 hours I was in out of the men's room. I was leaking more than a busted faucet.... Like Bernie Mac said in Ocean's 13.. " NUFF SAID." I've stressed before that the weekends are kind of tough for me to eat like I do during the week. I did eat a nice BBQ Chicken salad last night so the weekend was not all lost...

I do get cravings ( man, do I ever! ) at night, for like ice cream or something else that's sweet. I've been able to maintain though. I have eaten carbs after 5:00 a few times this past week, nothing too bad, but it's funny, because I don't have that bloated feeling afterwards when I do eat them. I have approxitmitley 15 days ( started May 18 - ends Aug. 25 ) until my 100 days of No Rice and Soda is finished. I've learned to not really miss rice, but I love Sushi so that is when my cravings kick in. It would be nice to have a Coke or Pepsi too, but I think I can go longer without having to have one of those. Maybe it will be a good test to have a soda when my 100 days is up, just to test how strong I can be and not want one again? As for rice, I am very excited about trying Brown Rice. I've heard some good things about it and I think it will fit in what I am trying to accomplish with my new eating habits.

Well, that has been the last 10 days. I did also buy some new Nike's for training. They are the Nike Free 5.0, they are crazy light and feel like I have nothing on my feet when wearin them. This is what they look like:

I'll post a review on how they are for workouts...

Other than that, I have not been as consistent with my workout program as I would like, but I have been active. I did get to Box a few rounds with the bag and my family and I have been walking alot at the park and around our neighborhood. I have been really inspired by my two older girls, Lala and Kiki. They agreed to do the "Cooper Test" every day last week. The "Cooper Test" is just running at an easy pace for 12 minutes.

I was very proud of their work ethic and dedication, so I have no choice but to return the favor and show them I am going to be healthy and strong for them! ; )
